How I paid McDonald's by using Credit Card?

Fast food is one of the most growing food industry in Malaysia. It is affordable, delicious and tasty, and of course, convenient.

McDonald's Malaysia has introduced cashless payment a year ago if not months ago. According to my visit experience at McDonald's in Klang Valley and KLIA, they mostly accept Credit Cards and Debit Cards as alternative option for payment alongside the conventional method, Cash.

From my observation, any cashless transaction (credit and debit cards) will not require signature. This includes card transaction using Chip transaction, where you slot in your credit card into the terminal.

McDonald's currently only accept PayWave transaction by Visa. User can tap the credit card terminal by using PayWave enabled Credit Card to perform transaction without insert into the terminal.

To spot a PayWave enabled card, you can see the WiFi sign but in sleeping position printed on top of any participating Visa Card. :)

MasterCard has the same feature with Visa's PayWave, called the PayPass. MasterCard PayPass is currently not available to McDonald's patron, yet at the moment.

However, MasterCard users are able to perform the transaction by slotting in their card into the credit card terminal.

After lengthy introduction, Now it's the food time!

I got myself one combo set of McDonald's Ayam Goreng for lunch. This combo set came with a choice of soft drink and fries.

I paid this meal with a MasterCard since I wanted to try with PayPass. Found it not able to process, I opted to pay by inserting the card into the terminal. The terminal is not dispense paper slip. Therefore no signature is required.

Usually I paid with Visa PayWave at McDonald's for a few times, both Dine-In, Take Away and Drive-Thru. The paper slip will dispense if you are using this method.

I took one original and one spicy. I like both of them. The fried chickens has crispy skin but tender inside. They are freshly prepared as I ordered them, with the freshness and still warm on the inside, it was just another satisfying meal.

And there is a perk for cashless transaction users, I got myself one Frozen Coke, free-of-charge as my transaction is more than RM10.

Note that some branch has different offers for their cashless transaction, so far I have gotten myself Sundae Cone at NKVE Drive Thru and KLIA. Frozen Coke at Sunway Pyramid branch.

How about your experience at McD?
