Texas Chicken Malaysia's Fortune Chicken

It was a great night for me to have a good dinner at Texas Chicken Malaysia, Sunway Pyramid Branch. The staffs were friendly and the ambiance was good.

Earlier today I wished to eat something crunchy and flavourful. When I left my office, Texas Chicken was finally dawned on me. Yeay!

Apa lagi?(Without further-ado) I quickly head to Texas Chicken to have dinner there. I ordered one combo set of Fortune Chicken. This Fortune Chicken is the new introduced chicken by Texas Chicken Malaysia in conjuction with Chinese New Year. And this coming CNY is the year of rooster!

This Fortune Chicken Combo is priced at RM14.50 inclusive of GST. This combo comes with two pieces of Fortune Chicken, Fortune Fries, a biscuit, and free-refill soft drinks. I got a pack of angpau packets too. Angpau Packets are red envelopes where money will be given enclosed during festive seasons, such as CNY.

The staffs were friendly. The cashier told me that the Fortune Chicken choice was left with drumsticks only. However they willingly to offer to prepare two pieces chicken parts of my choice. Yes. You read it right, and two pieces only. I took one breast and another one thigh.

However, the wait for the chicken to be served took me 15 minutes doesn't disappoint me. The chickens were fully flavoured. And when eating them hot was the best. You can taste the succulent meat and its juiciness.
The awesome juicy-ness dripped out from the fried chicken.

The Fortune Fries were flavoured with hot and spicy flavour too. I think the fries was hotter than the chicken. But it was good. The chicken were flavoured carefully and it covered the whole fried chicken. I can taste the "fortune"-ness at each every bites I had.

However I think the flavour for chicken is a bit more sweeter rather than taste of chili. But both fries and fried chicken were spicy and good.

This highlighter pen was put for size comparison only.

KFC Malaysia Crispy Tenders Super Jimat Box

I made a daily trip to Kundasang today. I visited Desa Cattle Dairy Farm which is located at the foothill of Mount Kinabalu.

I dropped by nearest town, Ranau for taking away KFC before going through Ranau Tambunan Road.

As expected I enjoyed the Potato Bites only through-out the 130KM journey to Keningau. Honestly speaking the road condition is relatively bad. And repair works are on the way at parts of the road. Hopefully the infrastructure at Sabah can be maintained properly by related authorities continuously then.

I reached hotel and enjoyed the rest of the meal.
I purchased Crispy Tenders Super Jimat Box. It is priced at RM13.95 inclusive one soft beverage. The meal comes with One Lil' Zinger, One small Fries, One piece Chicken and of course three pieces of Crispy Tenders.

KFC Ranau is very friendly and I felt warm when I stepped inside the restaurant. Their staffs are friendly, smiling and efficient when taking order and prepare the order.

Surprisingly, there were four Crispy Tenders inside the box. What a happy day for me. :)

I able to caught a double rainbow too on my way back.

KFC Ole Ole Rice Wrap

I had KFC Ole Ole Rice Wrap for dinner at KFC Sunway Metro. This is also because I wanted to catch more Pokemon and visit more Poke Stops for perks. I am a slow player so I am slow but steady. Hoo yeah!

Back to the KFC meal. This was not my first time eating Ole Ole Rice Wrap. I think this Rice Wrap is better than the Wasabi one.

The combo came with 15 pcs Potato Bites, one Rice Wrap and of course a choice of soft-beverage.
This meal costs RM 8.90 which I personally think the price is not bad considering there are new innovation from KFC. However I think the meal should be around RM 7.50 if it came with a regular fries.

The Potato Bites were good. They were tasty, can eat it on its own and finger lickin good.

The Rice Wrap is not bad as there was Salsa Sauce with yellow rice. The fresh vegetables can be seen but not so significant. This is because there is two pieces of Zinger strips too.

Overall, this was a good meal.

KFC Crispy Tender is back!

KFC Crispy Tenders is back again!

KFC has reintroduce Crispy Tenders' promotion. The Crispy Tenders received good feedback on last promotion 4 months ago. Restaurants were constantly out of stocks last time.

I've bought myself one set of Kombo Sensasi. Good to say the price is still the same as last time.

This RM12.50 combo meal consists of three pieces of Crispy Tenders, one piece of chicken and two mashed potatoes. Of course there is a choice of soft drink. The meal came with one Sour Cream and Onion Sauce.

The Crispy Tenders were very good to enjoy by dipping it into Sour Cream and Onion Sauce. The sauce is a bit sweet rather than sourish though.

Note that in Sabah this combo is offered with two mashed potatoes. I requested if one of it able to change to Small Fries. But this request is not doable because the promotion itself shows two mashed potatoes.

For those who don't favour mashed potato, they can get another promotion which is the 6-pcs combo where fries are served on this combo meal.

How I paid McDonald's by using Credit Card?

Fast food is one of the most growing food industry in Malaysia. It is affordable, delicious and tasty, and of course, convenient.

McDonald's Malaysia has introduced cashless payment a year ago if not months ago. According to my visit experience at McDonald's in Klang Valley and KLIA, they mostly accept Credit Cards and Debit Cards as alternative option for payment alongside the conventional method, Cash.

From my observation, any cashless transaction (credit and debit cards) will not require signature. This includes card transaction using Chip transaction, where you slot in your credit card into the terminal.

McDonald's currently only accept PayWave transaction by Visa. User can tap the credit card terminal by using PayWave enabled Credit Card to perform transaction without insert into the terminal.

To spot a PayWave enabled card, you can see the WiFi sign but in sleeping position printed on top of any participating Visa Card. :)

MasterCard has the same feature with Visa's PayWave, called the PayPass. MasterCard PayPass is currently not available to McDonald's patron, yet at the moment.

However, MasterCard users are able to perform the transaction by slotting in their card into the credit card terminal.

After lengthy introduction, Now it's the food time!

I got myself one combo set of McDonald's Ayam Goreng for lunch. This combo set came with a choice of soft drink and fries.

I paid this meal with a MasterCard since I wanted to try with PayPass. Found it not able to process, I opted to pay by inserting the card into the terminal. The terminal is not dispense paper slip. Therefore no signature is required.

Usually I paid with Visa PayWave at McDonald's for a few times, both Dine-In, Take Away and Drive-Thru. The paper slip will dispense if you are using this method.

I took one original and one spicy. I like both of them. The fried chickens has crispy skin but tender inside. They are freshly prepared as I ordered them, with the freshness and still warm on the inside, it was just another satisfying meal.

And there is a perk for cashless transaction users, I got myself one Frozen Coke, free-of-charge as my transaction is more than RM10.

Note that some branch has different offers for their cashless transaction, so far I have gotten myself Sundae Cone at NKVE Drive Thru and KLIA. Frozen Coke at Sunway Pyramid branch.

How about your experience at McD?

McDonald's Chicken Lazeez Foldover is back for Ramadan

The holy month for Muslim is around the corner. I would like to wish all Muslim Happy Celebrating Ramadan. Muslim will observe fasting during day time for the month.

Back to the meal, McDonald's Malaysia has reintroduced Foldover Chicken Lazeez, Foldover Beef Mashwi and a range of new dessert series. These can be viewed in the picture below as I took Drive-Thru at McDonald's Subang DT SS15.

They offered cashless transaction too at any amount for Drive-Thru.

I got myself an ala-carte Foldover Chicken Lazeez and one Bubur Cha Cha Pie.

The wrap aka the bread was very soft and the chicken patties were lightly grilled, wrapped with lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices and the onion mayonnaise.

The Bubur Cha Cha was very good too. I can taste the authentic taste of bubur cha cha and the yam itself is solid. The crispy and crunchy pie on the outer surface will make you indulge along with the bubur cha cha fillings.

What is the drawback of this promotion?
Where is the McFizz and Criss-cut Fries? I hope you do introduce this too at later date especially the Criss-cut Fries. (This offer was available on last year).

A&W Spicy Fried Chicken

This was taken three months ago but I think it is worth sharing.

That time was Chinese New Year Celebration where my friends and I went to do house visits.
I went to Seremban for "pai-nian"(open house gathering).

I dropped by at Seremban RnR for a quickie. A&W just opened weeks ago after gone through massive renovation.

I wanted to order Waffle but I was told the person who make waffle is on annual leave so I left no option but to order other dishes.

So, I ordered one combo set of Spicy Fried Chicken (2pcs), at RM12.85 inclusive of GST.

The chicken tasted so so good, well also because it is still hot and enjoyed with refreshing root beer is just heavenly heaven.
